What is my Renewal Cycle?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - On or before March 1 of each odd-numbered year, a dentist must complete continuing education
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - On or before March 1 of each odd-numbered year, a dental hygienist must complete continuing education
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - On or before March 1 of each odd-numbered year, a licensed dental assistant must complete continuing education

How Much Continuing Education Do I Need?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - Renewal of your license requires 30 hours of acceptable continuing education earned during the preceding 24-month period prior to the license expiration date
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - Each dental hygienist holding an active license must complete at least 30 hours of acceptable continuing education hours during the preceding 24-month period
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - Each licensed dental assistant holding an active license must complete at least 30 hours of acceptable continuing education hours during the preceding 24-month period

What, if Any, Are The Mandatory Subjects?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - "A minimum of 2 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in infection control continuing education If the licensee prescribes controlled substances, continuing education that meets the requirements set in Neb. Rev. Stat. § 38-145 A minimum of 6 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in general anesthesia or sedation administration and management for the dental office continuing education for licensees holding any level of sedation permit"
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - "A minimum of 2 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in infection control continuing education A minimum of 2 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in each area for which a licensee holds an expanded function permit"
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - "A minimum of 2 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in infection control continuing education A minimum of 2 hours in a renewal period must be obtained in each area for which a licensee holds an expanded function permit"

Is There a Limit to The Number of Online Classes

A maximum of 10 hours each in a renewal period may be obtained through home study.
