What is my Renewal Cycle?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - After the initial license period, licenses expire every three years on June 30
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - After the initial license period, licenses expire every three years on June 30
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - After the initial license period, licenses expire every three years on June 30

How Much Continuing Education Do I Need?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - Dentists: 60 hours of continuing education are required during each triennial renewal cycle
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - Dental Hygienists: 45 hours of continuing education are required during each triennial renewal cycle
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - "Dental Assistants: 30 hours of continuing education are required during each triennial renewal cycle ​Expanded Function Dental Auxilliary: ​36 hours of continuing education are required during each triennial renewal cycle"

What, if Any, Are The Mandatory Subjects?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - "At least 1 hour of INFECTION CONTROL Current CPR/BLS (cannot be on-line) Any dentist who holds a federal drug enforcement administration registration to prescribe controlled substances, shall be required to complete and submit three CEUS in pain management"
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - "At least 1 hour of INFECTION CONTROL Current CPR/BLS (cannot be on-line)"
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - "3 hour Radiation Health & Safety (RHS course) At least 1 hour of INFECTION CONTROL Current CPR/BLS (cannot be on-line)"

Is There a Limit to The Number of Online Classes

Dentists: A max of 30 hrs can be online, webinars or self study. Dental Hygienists: A max of 30 hrs can be online, webinars or self study. Dental Assistants: A max of 30 hrs can be online, webinars or self study. EFDA: A max of 12 hrs can be online, webinars or self study.
