Medical Emergencies
This course is a practical case-based presentation designed to expose the participants to diagnosis and treatment of medical emergencies in the dental office. The course content will be geared to the capabilities of a general dental / hygiene practice. Topics will include creation of an emergency plan, staff responsibilities, communication techniques, emergency medical equipment and appropriate emergency drugs and their use.
“Dr. Bookless’ presentation is didactic lecture using a student handout and PowerPoint presentation. Case studies will be used to illustrate the diagnosis and treatment of the most common medical emergencies encountered in a dental practice. The presentation participants will be encouraged to actively participate in the critical treatment decision process.”
At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:
