Course Description

Pediatric Dentistry

This 7-hour live interactive webinar will provide attendees with contemporary knowledge on three important facets of dental care for pediatric patients: Pulp Therapy for Primary and Immature Permanent Teeth, Minimally Invasive Techniques, and Restorative Dentistry. The course will utilize foundational knowledge and clinical cases to discuss evidence-based recommendations. A framework for clinical decision-making will be discussed. Techniques for the use of contemporary medicaments and materials will be highlighted.

The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:

  1. Learn to diagnose of vital and non-vital pulp in primary teeth and immature permanent teeth
  2. Implement effective pulp therapy techniques for pediatric patients
  3. Learn about regenerative endodontics for pediatric patients
  4. Understand patient and tooth-specific indications for minimally invasive/ noninvasive caries management
  5. Understand clinical application protocol for the application of silver diamine fluoride, resin infiltration, and peptide-guided enamel remineralization
  6. Understand when and how to use “Hall crowns” for primary teeth
  7. Review stainless steel crowns, composite strip crowns, pre-veneered esthetic crowns, zirconia crowns, and medical-grade resin crowns
  8. Weigh the pros and cons of different types of crowns for pediatric patients
  9. Learn about techniques to maximize success with contemporary esthetic crowns
