Course Description

Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Bradford Towne, co-author of “Neurotoxins and Facial Fillers in Facial Esthetic Surgery”, provides an introduction to the use of dermal fillers for facial cosmetic enhancement in this three hour live webinar. During this presentation, participants will learn about the pharmacology of different dermal fillers, indications for their use, benefits and risks associated with the injection of fillers. During this webinar, a review of the aging face, pre treatment evaluation, documentation, an introduction to techniques for injection and overview potential complications.

Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.”

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:

  1. Contraindications to use of botulinum toxin.
  2. Site analysis and filler selection for injection of different sites.
  3. Introduction to administration of dermal fillers.
  4. Avoidance and management of complications.
  5. Understand the pharmacology and mode of action of different fillers.
  6. Familiarize the participant in the proper evaluation of a patient for dermal filler injections.
  7. Provide an understanding of the pathophysiology of facial aging.
  8. Indications for treatment with dermal fillers.
