Course Description

Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry

This course is designed to do a brief overview of common entities in which oral health care providers treating pediatric patients will encounter. A variety of topics will be discussed ranging from developmental defects to salivary gland lesions with a focus on more common lesions.

 

“The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.”

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:

  1. Identify common oral pathologic lesions in the pediatric population
  2. Discuss a differential diagnosis for pediatric oral pathology
  3. Determine a treatment plan for pediatric patients with oral pathologic lesions
